Chuy region leads in Kyrgyzstan's industrial production

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 28. The Chuy region in the northern part of Kyrgyzstan recorded the highest volume of industrial production from January to June, surpassing all other regions in the country, Trend reports.

As per the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, during this period, the Chuy region produced industrial goods worth 94.008 billion soms ($1 billion), which is an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which recorded 81.687 billion soms ($932.4 million).

During the period under review, the physical volume of production in the Chuy region also rose, by 7.7 percent year-on-year.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan's total industrial production for the mentioned period reached 207 billion soms (approximately $2.3 billion), which is a 0.4 percent rise compared to the same period in 2022.

This positive growth can be attributed to the expansion of key sectors within the country, particularly textile manufacturing, clothing and footwear production, leather and leather goods (an increase of 38.5 percent), pharmaceuticals (an increase of 26.4 percent), and chemical products (an increase of 22 percent).
