BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 24. Banks in Kyrgyzstan have disbursed consumer loans amounting to 48.4 billion soms ($541.8 million) as of August 31, 2023, which is a 46.3-percent increase since the beginning of the year, Trend reports.
Data from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan indicates that trade-related loans have also seen growth, with a 19.7 percent increase since the beginning of the year, reaching 67.3 billion soms ($753.4 million).
Furthermore, mortgage loans have increased by 13.6 percent to 27.7 billion soms ($310.1 million), and agricultural loans now stand at 41.9 billion soms ($469 million), up by 13 percent.
Other types of loans have reached 30 billion soms ($335.8 million), showing a 12 percent increase since the beginning of 2023.
In contrast, loans for industrial purposes have decreased to 12.4 billion soms ($138.8 million), which is a 9 percent decline, while loans for construction have decreased by 4.9 percent to 12.3 billion soms ($137.7 million).
The total credit portfolio of the banking sector's clients stands at 239.9 billion soms ($2.6 billion) as of August 31, 2023, signifying a 17.6 percent increase since the beginning of the year.
