BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 15. A solar power station worth $100 million is being constructed in the Keminsky district of Kyrgyzstan’s Chuy region, Kanat Dzhumagaziev, the authorized representative of the president in the region said, Trend reports.
He said that the construction of a solar power station has commenced on a 124-hectare land plot within the Kichi-Kemin village.
The representative highlighted the key achievements of the Chuy region in 2023. Dzhumagaziev emphasized the importance of efforts aimed at improving the socio-economic situation of the region and discussed successful projects and programs implemented throughout the year.
He mentioned that particular attention was devoted to issues concerning social welfare, economic growth, and infrastructure development, as well as measures to strengthen law and order in the Chuy region in 2023.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the electricity production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 11.099 billion kilowatt-hours from January through October 2023, which is a rise of 7.8 percent compared to the same months in 2022 (10.299 billion kilowatt-hours).
