BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 18. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia amounted to $2.930 billion in 2023, decreasing by 15.7 percent compared to 2022 ($3.475 billion), Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee reveals that last year, Russia accounted for 18.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade, making it the primary trading partner of Kyrgyzstan among CIS countries (Commonwealth of Independent States).
Kyrgyzstan's exports to Russia totaled $747.839 million, which is a 30-percent decrease compared to 2022 ($1.069 billion). Russia accounted for 22.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s export structure.
The country's imports from Russia amounted to $2.182 billion, declining by 9 percent compared to 2022 ($2.406 billion). This constituted 17.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total imports.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.66 billion in 2023, which is a 29.9 percent increase compared to 2022. The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, rising by 46.8 percent year-on-year. Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than in 2022.
