Dushanbe regards Russia's possible temporary limit on the import of vegetable products from Tajikistan politically motivated and considers it as a factor with negative impact on both sides, RIA Novosti reported.
"Russian market for 90 percent is aligned for vegetable and agricultural products from Tajikistan," Tajik Agricultural Ministry reported.
In case the limit is imposed most of the Tajik labor migrants in Russia will become jobless. At the same time Russian people will remain without "vitaminous products" from Tajikistan, the Tajik Ministry's official said.
On Monday the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported about the imposing of possible temporarily limit on the import of all kinds of vegetable products from Tajikistan.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the reason is systematic breaking of international and Russian Phytosanitary requirements during the delivery of vegetable products from Tajikistan.
Rosselkhoznadzor has appealed to Tajikistan's Ministry of Agriculture with the request to hold an investigation into the violations and to take appropriate measures with this regard.
The violations were revealed while checking passengers' hand luggage and certified consignments of goods coming from Tajikistan to Russia.
