"In 2012, Tajikistan paid special attention to activity directions of the committees and commissions of the United Nations and our country for the first time in its history will join the UN's commission for development in 2014-2016," Zarifi said.

He said last year Tajikistan also sent a request to the UN in order to join three committees and commissions of this influential international organization.

Today, UN Security Council's non-permanent members are: Australia, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Guatemala, Luxembourg, Morocco, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Rwanda and Togo.
