By Aygun Badalova -Trend:

Electricity tariffs in Tajikistan will increase from July 1, 2014, Avesta.Tj reported referring to the country's deputy finance minister Djamoliddin Nuraliev.

"It is expected that the decree of the Tajik government on a 15-percent increase in the cost of electricity for consumers will be issued in the coming days", Nuraliev said at the meeting of the Tajik parliament.

He said that the decision to increase the cost for electricity is connected with the "bad" financial situation of state energy holding Barki Tochik.

"The financial state of "Barki Tojik" is not good, and the increase in the cost for electricity, to some extent, will help to solve this problem", Nuraliev said.

Last time electricity tariffs were increased in Tajikistan was in March, 2012.

Nuraliev also said that the reconstruction of the electrical substation "Ravshan" will help to completely meet electricity need of the population of the cities of Tursunzade and Shahrinav in the summer period.
