Three hours after the start of the referendum in Tajikistan, 29.8 percent of the voters have already cast ballots, Interfax reported citing Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda, head of Tajikistan's Central Commission for Elections and Referenda.
"The nationwide referendum on amending Tajikistan's constitution kicked off at all 3,239 polling stations on May 22," he said. "The voting continues. The Central Commission for Elections and Referenda hasn't so far received any complaints from the citizens or from international and national observers."
The voting in the referendum in Tajikistan started at 06:00 (UTC/GMT + 5 hours) and will last till 20:00.
There is one question on the ballots: "Do you accept the changes and amendments to the country's constitution?"
