Tajik Transport Minister Khudoyor Khudoyorzoda at a meeting on activities of the Dushanbe International Airport OJSC highly assessed the airport’s operation, Khovar news agency reported.
He expressed special gratitude to Director General of the Dushanbe International Airport Ismatullo Abdullozoda for his enormous contribution to the development and improvement of the airport, the construction of three sports grounds in Dushanbe city and the construction of a new three-story VIP hall for official delegations.
Khudoyorzoda called on the staff of the airport to work hard for its development, paying special attention to improving the quality and level of passenger service.
The airport served 1.3 million passengers in 2017, which is 12.7 percent more compared to 2016. A total of 2,473 tons of cargo and mail were sent and received, which is 153 tons or 6.6 percent more compared to 2016. A total of 219.9 tons of agricultural products were accepted for dispatch.
In 2017, 5,549 flights were serviced by the airport, which is by 89 flights more than in last year.
The following tasks were set before the Dushanbe International Airport for 2018: preparation for the next audit by the International Civil Aviation Organization, implementation of the national aviation security program for 2015-2020, and improving services for passengers.
