Tajikistan’s Accounts Chamber accuses the management of Tojiksodirotbank of illegal sale of some shares, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber Zafar Azimi said at a press-conference, Sputnik Tajikistan agency reported Jan. 23.
"The Accounts Chamber revealed during an audit that the bank’s responsible people illegally put up the bank's shares for sale without agreement with the National Bank of Tajikistan," he said.
Azimi added that the shares worth 64 million somoni ($ 7.2 million) were illegally privatized.
The Accounts Chamber carried out the audit upon the instructions of the Tajik president. The bank’s shares were returned.
