BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. The volume of solar energy production in Tajikistan from January through May 2022 significantly decreased compared to the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Avesta.Tj.
According to the country's energy sector, Tajikistan's solar power plants produced only 2,000 kWh of electricity in the first five months of this year, which is a decrease of 50 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
Earlier, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma noted that in Tajikistan it's scheduled to implement several solar energy construction projects with a capacity of 460 megawatts.
Moreover, according to him, Tajikistan eyes to increase the overall capacity of renewable electricity generation to 700 megawatts by 2030.
