BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Tajikistan shared updated data on its fruit harvest as of August 19, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry, a total of 139,785 tons of fruits have been collected in Tajikistan.
"To date, 51,510 tons of fruits have been collected in the Sughd region, 69,549 tons in the Khatlon region, and 17,895 tons in districts under Central Government Jurisdiction," the message said.
In particular, 32,085 tons of grapes were collected throughout the country: 6,219 tons in the Sughd region, 11,524 tons in the Khatlon region, and 14,324 tons in districts under Central Government Jurisdiction.
Remarkably, Tajikistan’s agriculture sector contributes 22.6 percent of the country's GDP while employing 45.7 percent of the population.
