BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. Tajikistan increased electricity generation and export from January through July 2022, Trend reports with reference to the avesta.tj.
Tajikistan's electricity production in seven months of this year amounted to 12.5 billion kWh, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
HPPs in Tajikistan from January through July 2022 generated more than 11 billion kWh of electricity, which is 93.5 percent of the total volume of electricity generated throughout the country.
During this period, more than one billion kWh of electricity was produced in combined heat and power plants (CHP), and only 2,000 kWh of electricity was produced by solar power plants.
The total value of Tajikistan from the export of electricity in seven months of this year amounted to $64.5 million, which is 17.2 percent higher than in the same period of last year.
