BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. Volume of wheat supplies from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan decreased from January through September 2022, Trend reports referring to Kazakhstan's "QazTrade" Trade Policy Development Center" JSC.
According to the center, Tajikistan in the first 9 months of this year imported 596,100 tons of wheat from Kazakhstan, which is a decrease of 15 percent over the same period in 2021 (700,900 tons).
However, the value of Kazakhstan's wheat exports to Tajikistan in 9 months increased by 18.3 percent over the corresponding period in 2021, or by $30.1 million - up to $194.7 million.
"Remarkably, wheat ranks first among goods exported from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan. The average import price of Kazakh wheat to Tajikistan has increased by 39 percent compared to last year - up to $330 per ton," the message says.
Overall, the export of Kazakh products to Tajikistan for 9 months of this year amounted to $591.2 million, which is an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period of last year.
