BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. Tajikistan's Khatlon region increased production of agricultural products from January through October 2022, Trend reports with reference to khovar.tj.

According to statistical data, the agricultural production in the Khatlon region in the 10 months of this year amounted to 21.8 billion somoni ($2 billion), which is an increase of 6.3 percent over the same period in 2021.

During the last 30 years, the total value of agricultural products has increased from 3.7 billion somoni ($362.3) in 1991 to 20.7 billion somoni ($2 billion) in 2021.

Currently, 4 projects are being implemented in the amount of 1 billion somoni ($97 million) to ensure the development of agriculture in the Khatlon region.

Khatlon, located in the southwest, is the most populous of the four first-level administrative regions of the country. It is known for producing high-quality cotton, early watermelons, gourds, onions etc.
