BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 6. The Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan has unveiled a sum of money allocated for the development of the Tajik economy in 2023, Trend reports with reference to avesta.tj.
According to the Ministry, the draft state budget for next year provides 12.6 billion somoni (over $1.2 billion) for the economic development of Tajikistan, which is equal to 9.8 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
"More than 6 billion somoni ($587.8 million) of these funds will be directed to the development of the fuel and energy sector. The industry's priority is to finance the construction and reconstruction of large hydropower plants in Tajikistan," the message said.
In general, according to the ministry's forecast, economic growth in 2023 is projected at a level of 7.8 percent.
