Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, March 12 / corr. Trend G.Hasanov / The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, meeting the previous day with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, called Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India one of the major construction projects.
Heads of two States, as announced on Thursday by the national TV channel Altyn Asyr, met in the Tenth Anniversary Summit of heads of states and governments of member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran.
Berdymuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan's intention to diversify export routes for Turkmen energy carriers to world markets. Parties noted the rich economic potential of the two countries for a mutually beneficial partnership.
In his turn, the head of Pakistan stressed that Turkmenistan "perceived worldwide as a dynamic state and a major regional peacekeeping center".
The importance of further strengthening of regional cooperation and the role in this process, the ECO as a "catalyst" critical realization of joint projects designed to bring peace and prosperity of the peoples of the region were mentioned.
