The Turkmen newlyweds can rely on social benefits, including the purchase of housing and household goods.
Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov has signed the corresponding decree. This step is dictated by the "national traditions and principles with a view to support the strengthening of the new families, which are a symbol of prosperity, solidarity and a happy life, as well as further improving the social conditions of young families."
Under the decree, in accordance with the appeals of the officially registered newlyweds, the authorized Turkmen banks are required to provide them with the following:
- soft loans-- to purchase the necessary household goods and stuff --worth up to 6,000 manat for 3 years with an annual interest rate of 1 percent without bail on sureties;
- loans-- to purchase real estate-- for a period of 30 years to purchase the full cost of housing (apartments) with an annual interest rate of 1 percent and a 5-year grace period of repayment of principal debt.
