Leading U.S. companies seek to expand their participation in large-scale projects in Turkmenistan, local media report.
Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov met Eric Stewart, the executive director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council, in in New York.
Appraising the open and attractive investment policy implemented under the leadership of President Berdimuhammedov, Stewart reaffirmed that the business circles in the United States keenly sought to enhance fruitful relationships with Turkmenistan that demonstrated the high economic growth rate today.
He voiced the willingness of the U.S. major companies to intensify cooperation in implementing the ongoing ambitious national projects in Turkmenistan.
Berdimuhammedov emphasized that Turkmenistan successfully pursued the foreign policy strategy aimed particularly at promoting mutually advantageous cooperation on an equal basis with all foreign partners interested, including with U.S. companies willing to establish close business contacts.
Trade and economy, energy, transportation, communications, and agriculture were identified as the priority areas for cooperation.
