China attaches particular importance to development of its relations with Turkmenistan, Chinese leader Hu Jintao reported on Wednesday at his talks with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, who is on state visit to Beijing, the Government of Turkmenistan reported.

"Turkmenistan and China will mark the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations shortly. All these years the sides kept a permanently high level of cooperation, and supported each other in all key issues meeting their national interests," Jintao said.

The Chinese leader also "expressed Chinese side's utmost readiness for a further dynamical development of multisided partnership and deepening of traditional mutual links with Turkmenistan for the benefit of each side".

Berdymukhamedov said, "The high level of mutual understanding and mutual support characteristic of Turkmenistan and China is an important factor of further strengthening of interstate dialogue".

As noted, the positions of the two countries are identical or coincide on many urgent issues of international relations, primarily, in the field of politics.

Berdymukhamedov stressed the importance of close cooperation in the field of establishment of Central Asia's firm security system based upon balanced multisided interests and adherence to a negotiated solution of problems.

Chine companies are currently operational in Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry, telecommunications, transport industry, agriculture, textile, chemical and food industries, healthcare, and construction.
"Chinese partners do their best in all our joint actions," the Turkmen leader said,

Having accentuated interaction in the field of high technologies and communications, including space communication, Berdymukhamedov pointed out to the existence of broad prospects.

The fuel and energy sector is traditionally a priority in our interaction, the Turkmen leader said. An evident illustration of this is the launch of strategic gas export pipeline Turkmenistan-China at the end of 2009.

"This project became an illustrative example of realization of our common task: the provision of the balance of interests of all participants of international energy projects: energy producers, transiting countries, and consumers," Berdymukhamedov said.
