President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov signed a decree to dismiss Durdymyrat Ashyrov from his post as governor (mayor) of Tejen city of the Akhal region "for serious shortcomings in the work".
Local media outlets published the decree.
Tejen is associated with international projects. In particular, such major projects as the construction of the boundary reservoir "Dostluk" (Friendship) and the connecting railway Tejen-Mashhad have been carried out in this region jointly with Iran.
