Ambassador of Uzbekistan completes diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Sherzod Fayziev, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen government said on Saturday.
According to information at the meeting Fayziev said "Uzbekistan highly appreciates and fully supports the ongoing Turkmen leader's policy and important international initiatives put forward aimed at strengthening the foundations of peace, stability and prosperity in Central Asia and the world as a whole."
Berdymuhamedov emphasized the special attention of Turkmenistan on the development of comprehensive relations with its neighbors, including Uzbekistan.
Fayziev drew attention to the high dynamics of bilateral relations. Total trade increased almost four-fold for the past three or four years.
The sides noted that trusting and mutually respectful dialogue at the highest level serves to the steady consolidation of bilateral relations, and also discussed issues of international and regional politics.
Both states are connected by a number of major projects, particularly a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China via Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was opened in December 2009. The Parties also review possible cooperation in the implementation of the railway project, which would link Central Asia with Persian Gulf countries.
Ashgabat and Tashkent exploring opportunities for increasing mutual investments, mutually beneficial projects implementation in different sectors and the diversification of areas of joint activity.
