Turkmenistan's cotton growers harvested over 1.05 million tons of high-quality cotton, the appeal of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the agricultural producers published on Saturday said.
"In this great era, marked by the remarkable success in all spheres of life of the Motherland and inspiring to achieve new high goals, thanks to your diligent and conscientious work "white gold" mountains get higher and higher in our country," the appeal said.
Berdimuhamedov said that all provinces, regions, cotton-growing farms, masters of high yields contributed to this great achievement.
According to the appeal, in order to allow the village workers to take care of the crops in accordance with agronomic norms, to gather their harvest quickly and without losses, the government systematically buys modern high-performance agricultural machinery. Collective farmers are fully provided with fertilizers and water, extensive work is carried out on land reclamation.
During the harvest season the work of 159 procurement centers and 36 ginning factories of the country were set.
Turkmenistan prepares to hold the international exhibition-fair of the country's cotton production on November 23-24, 2013. The organizers of the event are the "Turkmenpagta" ("Turkmencotton") State Concern, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
