A regular flight between the cities of Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) and Donetsk (Ukraine) has been opened, the Turkmenistan's national carrier - Turkmen Havo Yullari (Turkmenistan Airlines) said.
According to the airline, the comfortable Boeing 737-700 airliner will fly between the two cities with a frequency of once a week.
"Opening this route will not only expand opportunities for Turkmenistan's and Ukraine's citizens in tourist trips to friendly countries, but also serve as an intensification of Turkmen-Ukrainian trade, economic and humanitarian relations', the message said.
Since 2008, Turkmen Havo Yullari has been carrying out flights with a frequency of three times a week to the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. In August 2013 a regular flight between Ashgabat and Ukrainian city of Lvov was opened.
The majority of passengers on these flights are students studying at Ukrainian universities, representatives of business sectors, as well as holidaymakers who make tourist and private travel arrangements.
