Turkmenistan sees increase in production of petroleum products

The oil refining volume in Turkmenistan stood at 101.8 percent as of eight months of 2014, compared to the same period of 2013, the country's Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources said.

The gasoline production totaled 102.8 percent, while diesel fuel production reached 102.1 percent compared to the same period of 2013.

Polypropylene production hit 109.5 percent, while the production volume of lubricants and associated gas stood at 114.6 percent and 104.8 percent, respectively since early 2014.

Turkmenistan plans to increase the capacity of the oil refining industry to 20 million metric tons of oil in 2020, 22 million metric tons in 2025 and 30 million metric tons in 2030.

The country annually produces around 10 million metric tons of oil, the significant part of which is refined at local refineries.
