Turkmenistan held an international monitoring of aviation equipment to purchase new aircraft for local airlines, the Turkmen government said in a message.
The message also said necessary measures are taken to bring the air harbors in Turkmenistan's regions, including the ones in the Atamyrat city of the Lebap region and the Garabogaz city of the Balkan region, in line with international standards.
Turkmenistan Airlines is actively using Boeing liners for international and domestic flights, while the outdated Soviet-style aircraft are put on sale.
At a recent government meeting, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said the Turkmen aviators will further be able to expand the regular international passenger transportations and increase the frequency of flights on existing routes.
