The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov instructed to analyze in detail the situation in the global economy and take appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence of negative processes in the economy of the country at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the state information service Turkmen dovlet khabarlary said Jan.31.
"The economy of Turkmenistan is an integral part of the global economy," said the head of state. "On this basis, all positive and negative processes occurring in the world have a direct impact on our country as well."
Deputy Prime Minister Annamukhammet Gochyev was instructed to analyze which work is required to be implemented in this direction, and promptly submit appropriate proposals.
In this context, Berdimuhammadov said that Turkmenistan has sufficient domestic and international reserve funds so that the people wouldn't experience any difficulties in the coming years and live a prosperous and happy life. However, despite this, one shouldn't relax, the president said, stressing that in order to successfully manage the national economy in the current conditions of the economic recession continuing in the world, a strict control over the execution of the state budget should be carried out.
"It is necessary to take appropriate measures to reduce the volume of unexpected expenses, as well as unnecessary costs for the management structures," said the president. "It is necessary to revise the list of buildings and facilities, construction of which is scheduled to begin this year."
He said that a program aimed at increasing export of domestic production abroad should also be developed and approved.
The president went on to add that it is necessary to take all measures to ensure the active participation of local entrepreneurs in the development of the national economy.
"These measures will help to create a reliable mechanism to counter the changing situations in the world economy and achieve economic stability in our country in the coming years," said Berdimuhammadov.
