Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Apr. 28
By Huseyn Hasanov - Trend:
Turkmenistan and the European Union (EU) have expressed readiness to further consolidate the efforts for cooperation in the energy sphere, Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry said Apr.28.
The bilateral cooperation issues were discussed during the meeting with the EU delegation led by Christopher Jones, deputy director general in the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission.
The EU is one of the promising partners for Turkmenistan in the energy security sphere.
The project for constructing a gas pipeline along the bottom of the Caspian Sea to the coast of Azerbaijan is one of the possible options for delivering the Turkmen gas to the European market.
Turkmenistan and the EU have been holding talks on this issue since 2011.
