Turkmenistan has joined two intergovernmental agreements developed by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) on the Trans-Asian railway network and Asian highway network.
Turkmenistan’s parliament approved the draft regulations on joining these agreements, reads a message from the Turkmen government.
The agreements are meant to improve the access to international markets, including for landlocked countries.
Moreover, the agreements set standards for highways and envisage development of international routes.
