Turkmenistan intensifies geological exploration on Caspian

Turkmen Oil State Concern is rapidly implementing geological exploration in the coastal areas of the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea, said the message of the country’s state oil concern.

The volume of drilling totaled 178,212 meters, and 63 wells were commissioned over the last nine months.

The work is underway to drill seven exploration and research wells in the north-western part of the North Goturdepe field located in shallow waters of the Caspian Sea.

Also, drilling operations are being held at the Uzynada field located in the coastal area of ​​the Caspian Sea. The project depth of the well is 7,150 meters, which is a record in the Turkmen history.

The data to be obtained as a result of drilling of this well, will help to further explore the areas of West Ordekli and Gurjaly, which are also located in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea.

Earlier it was reported that the resources of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea are estimated at 12 billion tons of oil and 6.5 trillion cubic meters of gas, and a number of contractual areas located at medium and great depths were put up for an international tender.
