Ashgabat hosted political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message Jan. 26.
The Uzbek delegation was led by the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev.
Prospective directions of further development of bilateral relations were analyzed during the meeting.
“Speaking about the strategic importance of bilateral relations, the sides noted the role of visits at the highest level,” said the message. “Discussing the issues of political cooperation, the parties expressed interest in further consolidation of relations within international organizations.”
Moreover, the issues of expansion of trade and economic cooperation were also considered during the meeting. The spheres of transportation, agriculture and water industry were noted among directions of common interest.
