Turkmenistan’s GDP growth rate was 6.4 percent in January-August 2017, the Turkmen government said in a message.
According to the message, the growth rate was 3.8 percent in industrial sector, 3.1 percent in construction sector, 10.9 percent in transportation and communication sector, 9.2 percent in trade sector, 4.6 percent in agriculture sector and 10 percent in the sphere of services.
The retail trade turnover volumes increased by 17.6 percent.
According to BP, Turkmenistan ranks fourth in its natural gas reserves in the world. Currently, the country is exporting natural gas to China and Iran.
