Turkmenistan produced 18,360,611,000 kilowatt hours of electricity in January-September 2017, according to the country’s Energy Ministry.
Compared to the same period of 2016, the growth rate amounted to 103.8 percent.
“More than 2.8 billion kilowatt hours were sent to foreign consumers, and the growth rate of exports amounted to 103.2 percent,” the ministry said.
Turkmenistan exports electricity to Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey. The prospects are studied to supply it to the countries of the Caucasus, as well as Central and South Asia.
