Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Manabu Horii stressed the dynamic cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of spheres during a meeting in Ashgabat, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message Nov. 29.

According to the message, Meredov and Horii stressed the role of high-level visits during the meeting held on the sidelines of the 28th meeting of the Energy Charter Conference.

The sides discussed the possibilities for further consolidation of joint actions in energy sector.

They also discussed the possibility of intensifying trade and economic relations, stressing the significant potential in those spheres.

Japanese companies are involved in various projects on diversification of the Turkmen economy.

During Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Turkmenistan in October 2015, memorandums were signed, as well as agreements on a number of projects, worth a total of $18 billion, were concluded.
