The Caspian region is one of the most important geopolitical and economic centers in the Eurasian area, said Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the government, the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary state news agency reported.
The Caspian Sea is surrounded by Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
Turkmenistan is carrying out extensive work to strengthen constructive cooperation with its neighbors in the Caspian region and, in general, a mutually beneficial partnership in the region, says the message.
He added that neutral Turkmenistan takes an active and proactive position in the negotiation process on the Caspian Sea issues and the development of the Convention on its legal status.
