Turkmenistan aims to intensify int’l co-op in industry, energy & transport

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has instructed to pay special attention to enhancing international cooperation in the fields of energy, industry and communications, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen government.
The head of state held a working meeting with the participation of the supervisor of these industries - Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov and Minister of Industry and Communication Takhirberdy Durkhanov.
Noting that the industrial complex was assigned a key place in providing the necessary materials for large-scale construction of various facilities in Turkmenistan and in the industrial processing of local raw materials, the Turkmen president demanded that best practices, scientific achievements and the latest technologies be studied and effectively used, the Turkmenistan State News Agency reported.
The head of state also pointed out the importance of developing a digital system and electronic document management in these areas.
Strengthening the material and technical base of the transport and communications sector of the national economy, intensifying international cooperation in this direction, increasing freight and passenger traffic are the main demand of the time, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The Ministry of Industry and Communications of Turkmenistan was formed in February and it supervises the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Railway Transport, the Ministry of Road Transport, the Ministry of Communications, the State Service of Maritime and River Transportation and Turkmen Airlines (Turkmenhowayollary).
Accordingly, these institutions were renamed as agencies Turkmensenagat (Turkmen Industry), Turkmendemiryollary (Turkmen Railways), Turkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Highways), Turkmenaragatnasyk (Turkmen Communications), Turkmendenizderyayollary (Turkmen Sea and River Transportation) and Turkmenhowayollary (Turkmen Airlines).
