Turkmenistan reveals wheat harvesting plan for Dashoguz region

It is planned to receive more than 50,000 tons of wheat from Saparmyrat Turkmenbasi district of Turkmenistan's Dashoguz region in 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal Information Portal.
Meanwhile, the Alkus Alan Gelati agricultural enterprise in Saparmyrat Turkmenbasi district of Turkmenistan's Dashoguz region received 2,563 hectares for state land for long-term use.
The main part of the allocated land (1,300 hectares), is for the production of a certain type of wheat, that is of high yield and disease resistance.
Farmers of Alkus Alan Gelati agricultural enterprise expect a yield of at least 18.3 centners per hectare.
The mentioned district is known as the largest wheat producer in the Dashoguz region.
According to a previous statement by the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, the country plans to reach 1.4 million tons by the end of 2020.
Just as last year, Turkmenistan is allocating state land for wheat production to enterprises. For wheat production, the Turkmen state provides seeds, mineral fertilizers and means for combating agricultural pests on preferential terms.
Agriculture is one of the most important branches of Turkmenistan's economy. The main types of agricultural crops are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable and fruit crops.
