Turkmenistan sells polypropylene, textile, disposable masks via state commodity exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22

State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan has registered 59 transactions both for foreign currency and for the Turkmen manat during last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan Today State News Agency.

During the auction of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan, entrepreneurs from the US, Great Britain, China, Afghanistan, used foreign currency to buy aviation kerosene produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.

The purchase of high-density polyethylene and polypropylene (Turkmengas State Concern) for foreign currency became the subject of transactions between businessmen from Switzerland and Afghanistan.

Also, businessmen from Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan bought colorless sheet glass, various textiles, disposable masks and cotton yarn for foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions for foreign currency exceeded $14.5 million.

Representatives of the UAE and Turkey purchased one-use masks and cotton yarn for a total amount of 6.4 million Turkmen manat (over $1.8 million).

Also, businessmen from Turkmenistan purchased high-density polyethylene and polypropylene (Turkmengas State Concern), cotton fiber for a total amount of more than 16.7 million manat ($4,8 million) for the domestic market.

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
