By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan is implementing reforms aimed at diversifying and modernizing the economy, giving it an innovative character and transferring it to a digital platform, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

As a result of the ongoing reforms in the country, growth in the leading sectors of the national economy was observed in 1H2020 despite the crisis in the world caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Program for the Development of Turkmenistan's Foreign Economic Activities for 2020-2025 approved by the decree of the head of state in December last year, also contributes to the growth of the economy in the country.

The ongoing reforms allow increasing mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners and international organizations.

During first six months of 2020, Turkmenistan has participated in a number of meetings held online by international organizations.

The country is also implementing digitalization in different sectors of the economy and, in particular, in the financial, agro-industrial and other areas.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by the US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, special equipment of the John Deere and Claas brands in Turkmenistan will be provided with telematics.
