BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Wheat harvest begins in the Lebap region in the east of Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.

More than 400 harvesters and 2,150 vehicles are involved in the fields.

Throughout the region, 34 points of reception of agricultural products, 62 barns, 6 large warehouses and 88 storage canopies were put in order for wheat storage.

In order to ensure the smooth operation of agricultural machinery, work is underway to provide it with fuel and lubricants and spare parts.

Moreover, in the region, 130,000 hectares of land were sown with wheat last fall, of which it is planned to get 310,000 tons of harvest.

The agricultural sector in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
