BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Turkmenistan exports more than 20 million cubic meters of natural gas to China every day, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.
This is five million cubic meters more than the planned amount.
Meanwhile, the commissioning of a powerful gas compressor station at the beginning of last year at the Malai field allowed increasing the volume of gas exports.
Currently, Turkmen gas is supplied to China via three pipelines running along the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China route. Their total throughput capacity is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
Furthermore, an agreement was reached in February 2022 on the construction of the fourth line of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China. It is expected that its commissioning will allow Turkmenistan to increase annual gas supplies to 65 billion cubic meters.
Turkmenistan exported about 34 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China in 2021.
