BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13. Since the beginning of this year, private enterprises of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan have grown and sent over 5,100 tons of greenhouse vegetables to retail outlets, Trend reports with reference to Jeyhun News.

Most of the products are tomatoes. Thus, private producers during this period grew and sent to retail outlets more than 4,900 tons of tomatoes, 83 tons of cabbage and 64 tons of bell pepper.

These days, the harvesting of potatoes, onions, tomatoes and melons continues in the region.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
