BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. Turkmenistan has joined the Additional Protocol to the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR), Trend reports citing Orient news.
According to the information, the law on accession to the additional protocol of the CMR was signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
This protocol concerns an electronic consignment note so that any document specified in the regulation can be issued using electronic means of communication.
An electronic waybill conforming to the protocol will be equivalent and have the same evidentiary value as a regular waybill, which will greatly facilitate cargo turnover and the transfer of goods from one person to another. To ensure the identification of the parties, such a document provides for an electronic signature.
