Turkmenistan discloses data on volume of vegetable production in Charjew district

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 9. The volume of vegetable production for 2022 in the Charjew district of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan has been announced, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, 37,200 tons of potatoes were produced in the Charjew district during the specified period. The growth rate of potato production was 2.4 percent.

Furthermore, 82,000 tons of other types of vegetables were produced in the district in 2022, the growth rate of which was 2.6 percent.

Last year, thanks to good indicators in the agro-industrial sector of the region, a significant decrease in prices for food products was recorded.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is one of the most important branches of the economy.

The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
