BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Russian Astrakhan Region intends to launch 4 new container ships on the Russia-Tukrmenistan sea line, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, 4 container ships with a capacity of 530 containers each are being built at the Astrakhan Lotos shipyard by order of the State Transport Leasing Co OJSC.

The ships are planned to be launched in 2025 on the Caspian Sea.

The issue of registration of a shipping line between Russia and Turkmenistan is currently being worked out.

This line will connect the ports of Astrakhan and Turkmenbashi. After the official opening of the sea route, cargo owners and shippers of Turkmenistan will be provided with a clear timetable for the movement of ships.

According to the schedule, it will be possible to plan the shipment of goods along the Caspian Sea to the Astrakhan region.
