Turkmenistan unveils weekly data for transactions on commodity exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. The total amount of transactions in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan amounted to about $34.7 million last week, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

According to the information, entrepreneurs from the UAE and Afghanistan purchased hydrotreated diesel fuel produced at the enterprise of the Turkmennebit State Concern. Businessmen from Afghanistan bought gasoline produced at the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex.

Furthermore, businessmen from the UAE purchased cotton yarn in the amount of 4.17 million Turkmen manats ($1.18 million).

Entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan purchased polypropylene worth more than 2.5 million Turkmen manats ($712,250) in exchange for the domestic market.

A total of 13 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
