BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Afghanistan is interested in developing cooperation in the field of agriculture and horticulture with Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

This was noted by the Acting Minister of Agriculture of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Ataullah Omari, during a meeting with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan Khoja Ovezov.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the launch of a campaign for the implementation of export-import operations with agricultural products, livestock, as well as exchange on various agricultural research.

The head of the Turkmen diplomatic mission assured the Minister of Turkmenistan's readiness to cooperate in the implementation of plans for the exchange of ideas in various directions, in particular in the agricultural sector and animal husbandry.

The agricultural sector of Turkmenistan plays an important role in the country's economy and is one of the main sources of employment and income for the local population.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan covers a variety of industries, such as crop production, animal husbandry and fishing.
