ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 20. The Charjew district of the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, this year sowed 3,080 hectares of land with rice, Trend reports.
As a result, farmers in Turkmenistan have strategically outlined their intentions to grow rice in order to obtain a significant harvest of almost 14,310 tons from cultivated land.
In general, 10,200 hectares of land have been sown in the Lebap region this year, from which it is planned to harvest about 47,400 tons of rice.
In order to improve rice varieties, some of its species imported from Russia underwent tests last year.
Turkmenistan provides targeted support for the development of the agricultural sector. In particular, the entire production infrastructure of the agro-industrial complex is being re-equipped and modernized; the chemical industry is developing; and modern tractors, combiners, and other machinery are being purchased.
