Russian companies eager to strengthen co-op and expand ties with Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 27. Russian companies are interested in strengthening and expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

This was stated by Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, during the 9th meeting of the High-level Group on Trade and Investment Support within the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

According to him, Russian companies are interested in expanding cooperation in the modernization, reconstruction and new construction of energy facilities in Turkmenistan, in cooperation in the field of shipbuilding, supplies of mining equipment and mainline cargo three-section locomotives to Turkmenistan.

He noted that Russian companies also want to participate in reconstruction of the Gyzylarbat railcar repair plant, as well as in the implementation of future projects for the modernization and electrification of railway lines in Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan and Russia maintain close relations based on a long-term strategic partnership.

Thus, in the field of politics, the emphasis is on regular high-level meetings and the coordination of common approaches to global and regional issues, and economic cooperation is actively developing, with a focus on trade and investment, which contributes to the mutual well-being of both countries.
