ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 10. The growth rate of Turkmenistan's gross domestic product (GDP) from January through May this year reached 6.3 percent, Trend reports.
According to an official source, this was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
He noted that in comparison with the corresponding period of last year, in general, the volume of products produced in Turkmenistan increased by 11.5 percent, and the execution of the revenue side of the state budget amounted to 102.2 percent, expenditure - 97.6 percent.
Furthermore, the President stressed that salaries, pensions, state benefits, and student scholarships were financed in a timely manner during this period.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has been experiencing sustained economic expansion, driven by targeted efforts in energy, transportation, and infrastructure development.
The nation is actively implementing strategies to draw in foreign capital, with a particular focus on improving the business climate and diversifying the economy.
